The ASEAN Tourism Research Association Annual General Meeting (AGM) which was originally scheduled in March 2020 and subsequently deferred due to the COVID-19 pandemic, was successfully held on Tuesday, 18th August 2020 virtually at Taylor's University Lakeside Campus, Subang Jaya, Selangor Malaysia via Zoom online platform.
The meeting was called to order at 2.10 pm after establishing that the quorum was met with the attendance of over two-thirds of the members. The President welcomed and thanked the members to the meeting. The President thanked Board members and ordinary members, including Mr. Agus from Trisakti Institute of Tourism and Ms. Xieemer from RX International Philippines, for attending the meeting. This had been a challenging year for everyone especially those involved in hospitality, tourism and event organisers.
The President also thanked all the Board members and ordinary members for the successful organization and hosting of the 7th ATRA Tourism Forum on the topic “Can Travel Bubble Boost Tourism in ASEAN” held on 17th August 2020. About 100 participants attended the Forum that was based on a timely topic pertaining to travel bubble within the ASEAN region.
